(THUGFUCKER 001) Thugfucker - Are You Ready To Rock (prudo Rmx)
There is another hot and legitimate question, ladies and gentlemen: are you ready 2 rock???......holmar filipson and greg oreck aka thugfucker started up with a new label called thugfucker records and now they come around with the first release named are you ready 2 rock and that means boogietime, for sure.everybody who knows their stunning releases on labels like mood music, brique rouge and wasnotwas, just to name a few, understand what he will find on this extraordinary hit single...nothing like another full guaranteed club smasher. the original starts with an 80's like bassline just to be in high spirits....claps and a slick drumwork start the madness finally, hey damn, this is disco, isn't it...yes, this is one of the hottest new definitions of modern disco sound until now but then, ladies and gentlemen, the first break will make clear that the upcoming energy will drive you to distraction....are you ready 2 rock???? on the flip another hot tune, prudo remixed the main t
rack and h

(INSTITUBES/ NAIVE nv809112) Para One - Dundun Dun
Para one is also one half of fuckaloop, institubes' ceo tacteel being the other half. the emphasis here is on live techno experimentation, with drexciya looming large in the background. most recently they remixed ellen allien's last single down.  as a solo remixer para himself remixed artists such as agoria, animal machine, krazy baldhead, and just finished a remix for daft punk. this remix of 'the prime time of your life' will be featured on a limited edition remix album exclusively released in japan right about now. the first 12inch, entitled "dudun dun", first extract from the upcoming epiphanie album, is already playlisted by 2 many dj's, tiga, erol alkal, feadz, justice.  instinctive club banger, you won't be able to avoid it this summer.

(ELECTRIC AVENUE 016) Monika Kruse Vs. Dave Shokh - Gestern!
"gestern!" (is german and means "yesterday!"): inspired by the after hour culture - maybe they know each other from the berlin after hour culture (who knows there anything?) - kiddaz.fm's 22 year old infant prodigious dave shokh (playmate, hidden agenda, co-producer of the recent karotte album "got to bed") and the electric avenue labelboss monika kruse (first time on electric avenue herself!) came together to produce two relaxed but completely affine to the dancefloor and in its way absolutely necessitative compositions!  who thinks this can only deal with techno is so mistaken... this here is lovely swinging minimal stuff - maybe, taking you away  to spheres of... for a sunday, for free, for outdoors - at the water front! and then the question: "when was yesterday?" (a:  "wann war gestern?"), so common in this typical still-awake conversations where nobody knows anymore which "yesterday" is meant. the "yesterday" where you slept the last time or the "yesterday" 24 hours bef

(MOOD MUSIC lim014) Kid D : Ub - Microgeniuz
Uk based logicalnoise records released the original mix a few years ago on the debut release from kid d:ub. fastforward to present and moodmusic has snapped the highly limited record for a full release on moodmusic limited. original is a mad synthdriven acid monster with mad breakdowns and snappy arrangment. on the remix tip , sasse transforms this to an minimal epic housetrancer which rocks every floor. allready approved by the berlin massive dirt crew, ewan pearson, dj naughty et co...

(TOYS FOR BOYS 007) Miguel Tutera - Play Solo
Tfb recordings welcomes south american, chile-based producer miguel tutera to their roster. miguel has released tracks on köln's sub static label ... ('terra c' ep with maetrik aka estornel), as well as on a couple of netlabels (handheld - unfoundsound). influenced by ambient, minimal & dub-techno, miguel tutera offers here 3 highly danceable club tunes with phat dub techno & reverbs plenty-full! on top of that there is a remix by finish maestro karr (plong, resopal schallware). another fine outing on toys for boys recordings!

(3 HOUSE 3hp001) Carlitto & Maxim Lany - Elektrified
When former techno producer ramon tapia aka 'el carlitto' and current dj maxim lany (the sound/culture club) combined forces to create their own sound a new track was born.  you can describe it as an elektro - influenced sound with a slight touch of minimal. it's b - side 'beaucoup' is more of a minimal track. the pounding beats and heavy sounds make the crowd go wild till the early morning on those afterparties

(PHIL E phile2003) Jackmate + Oz (highfish) - Short Life / Dirty Hairy
We are proud to welcome berlin based dj and producer marcin oz (better known as dj highfish) on board of phil e-records. aside to jackmate the fouder of wmf-label and member of the project "whitest boy alive"(with erlend oye) as well as producer of grand tracks on jacek sienkiewicz`s recognition-imprint is dropping a bomb! while staying in stuttgart at jackmats studio and waiting on a gig these tunes are worked out. so, the project "the league of ordinary gentlemen" was born! "short life" is a so to say old-school-hook with all those beautiful chicago-sounds, rolling over the clubfloor and absolutely done by a djs mind. on the flipside "dirty hairy" is walking late at night through sin-city, strolling around with some spooky sirens and at least there is no nites end... ...for the likes of villalobos....

(GUT 12gutin05) Sharon Phillips - Want2, Need2/ Switch & Trentemöller Rmx
Having exploded onto the underground last year, sharon phillips' 'want 2/need 2' has fast become a modern day house anthem. with its infectious hip house style vocals and genius electro-house production. covering the remix package we have a strong cast of a-list remixes. trenmoller, swith & audio twitch deliver sterling electro-house remixes each with there own unique glitchy style.

(URBAN TORQUE 024) Audio Soul Project Ft. Lori - Satellite
Satellite is the first ep from mazi to debut on ut. it's nasty beats and bass line give a nod in the general direction of the 'electro' sounds that's mashing up floors world wide, but mazi puts his own spin on proceedings, jacking beats and big bass

(NRK 117)Paul Woolford - Modernist Ep #1
Nrk welcomes one of the uk's finest talents to the label for a three part series of  deep and experimental dance tracks. ·paul woolford kicks off his nrk account with a brand new three part ep series. 'modernist ep #1' shows just why woolford is currently being hailed as the best producer in his genre right now from the likes of pete tong, francois kevorkian, mr c et al. woolford's current 'erotic discourse' is being hailed as one of those tracks that has captured the imagination of both house and techno djs alike. ·and so onto 'modernist #1', and whilst woolford nods to the past on title track '313', the arrangement and structure of the infectious cut is as modern as electronic dance gets right now. on 'part one', warm and lush pads herald an epic 11 minute production that twists and turns, all the while keeping the solid groove flowing. 'part two' on the flip presents a rawer and heavier take, the driving cowbell rhythm, snaking synth line and sub bass will cause much dev
astation.

(20/20 VISION 131) Kenny Hawkes & David Parr - Human Race
Dj/producer kenny hawkes has been a pioneering influence on the british dance scene for over a decade. has djed all over the world and produced some absolutely classic tracks, such as 'dance with me' featuring marcel and kimra on music for freaks and 'sleaze walking' on paper recordings. he turned pirate station girls fm into a highly successful underground dance station, attracting up to a million listeners a month. on this ep, 'human race' go down as another kenny hawkes classic. it's deep, melodic electronic house in the true 2020 vision tradition, that builds and builds into a bouncy underground house anthem. the 'electric press re:press' toughens things up slightly as harrogate's 'remixers du jour' deliver another of their stonking digital disco masterpieces, full of their trademark weird bleeps and noises.

(EMI dfaemi2158) The Juan Maclean - Love Is In The Air
As always dfa lead from the front & wait for the rest to follow. the juan maclean yet again deliver another real stand out from the crowd release.   'love is in the air' is a quirky piece of electro house perfect for the more intellectual floor.  london based duo mock & toof deliver peek time a-side mix, plus mixes from strategy and caro add to this diverse sounding 12".

(GIGOLO RECORDS 188) Digiteria - Teen Years
Robots have feelings, too. they know love, regret and fear and can reminisce about theirteen years just like we humans. although the band produces essentially electronic music, digitaria uses lots of live keyboards, vocals and many other elements in search of an unique sound with roots in electro, punk, techno, pop, ebm. we have it on good authority that the zoo brazil mix on the b-side is guaranteed to work well on any crowd. it'll makes the girls shake and the boys scream.

(BORDER COMMUNITY 11) Lazy Fat People - Big City
Hell yeah, new artist on border community called "lazy fat people" and what a killer tune.....trancy uplifting tech-house at it's best!

(TRENTON 010) Aspro & Reynold - Angel And Curve
After releasing the 1rst trenton record samuel rouanet and christophe clause aka reynold and aspro are back. this record is the result of their first collaboration as producers and also a celebration of the 10th release of trenton records.  here they managed to create a subtle mixture of aspro's strong bass line and tight grooves and reynold's soulful chords and minimal beats!!! on the a-side the track angle starts with a rolling strong bass line coupled with a very "break beat" oriented rhythm. still a strong straight 4/4 kick is here to support the techno pulse of the track. the all thing is enveloped by detroit chord's style that goes on and on.  the b-side is deeper. a beautiful chord sequence surrounded by click & cuts sounds and a groovy bass line. soft and forward at the same time, this tune is probably the best work that both of those guys accomplished so far. the symbiosis is there and it is 9mn of pure ecstasy!!!

(TRUESOUL 1209) Agaric & Bruce Logan - Im Always Watching
Adam beyer' truesoul imprint just goes from strength to strength having just released the amazing ozgur can record and now following with this stunning two tracker by agaric and steve logan. the a side is a fantastic chugging track with razor sharp production that just builds and builds with key elements like swirling vocals and synths and a funky bassline. the flip takes a much darker approach with its reverse bass line, synth pattern and super sharp hi hats. this is another fanatastic release from one of the hottest labels around at the moment.

(CRIMINAL 004) Vibe Dealers - Vibe Di Laine / Dealers Avenue
First things first... this release is probably the biggest record on criminal so far! so it's no surprise to me that chloé, digitalism, mike monday, martin eyerer & satoshi tomiie are playing it!! the 2 so-called-french gigolos ludovic vendi & anthony collins were probably jacking off to this hot tune a million times... and like snoop dogg would say: "this shit is so hot you could burn some serious eggs & bacon on it... no diggity!!" "vibe di laine" on side a starts off with this fucking wicked little groove that captures you right away and leads you straight to a rhythm consisting of a warm synthpad and a rather understated bass. the vibey synthpad introduces the first break followed by another more sawy bass line which kicks in with the beat. another synth drops in from the top, adding more and more rave-like character to it's 80's influenced groove!  "vibe di laine" seriously leaves some huge damage after you play it! it's geniusly arranged and produced with high technical
skills!

(FRESH FISH 02) Hausmann, Olarte, Kaltenhofer - Frisch Forte
Christian kaltenhofer opens this ep with "we are all food". this time he surprises with a new housy style that seems untypic for his productions so far. a straight and kicking housegroove with beautiful rythmetic surrounding chords. smart fading acidlines keep this track in motion again and again. he deversifies the arrangement with an alternative basslinepart, nice breaks and gimmiks. "rumores de amor" by paulo olarte on a2 is a pumping and ringing track. based on an irresisteble basline mr olarte is playing and building up smart percusive elements on and on. warm stabs and sub bass add the syncopation to the tough, bouncing groove. dj hausmann presents his new track on the flip. "canoby jungles" catches immediately  with  freaky and punching beat programming and percussions. the twisting baseline vibe and plenty of  sonics with shuffling, hypnotic grooves, make this track a fun jumping thing

(EINMALEINS 008) Jeremias Werner - Dolby In Mono Ep
These three brand-new tracks have come straight from kassel to berlin to be delivered into the cosmos of minimal techno by einmaleins musik. the  "dolby in mono ep" by jeremias  werner is perfectly placed there due to the amazing and intelligent sound this berlin label is well-known for. it is the second release by jeremias since 2001 and this one is strongly influenced by his experiences as a dj and liveact.

(KRAX 003) Alexi Delano - Too Far Gone Ep
For its 3rd instalment, krax records invites swedish fellow acid compadre alexi delano (adjd - pokerflat, dk, adny) to unleash some of his acidic rumblings. this twelve starts of with: 'close enough?' a seriously jackin' effort that is but keeping the vibe mid-tempo half way with some flowing pads & vibes, before going up again to end of with the jackin' effort that started it all. next up on side a is 'too far gone' the title says it all, reminiscent of adonis no way back. a looped up dirty as hell acidic bass line pumps this track to glorious heights, be prepared is the only thing to add! on the b-side there is 'let's go crazy', a repetitive hypnotic slammer that finishes of this twelve going for gold. plays by tiga, glimmers, dan ghenacia etc.

(MOOD MUSIC cd03) VA Freestyle Man Pres. - Nightstarter 3
It´s time for another installment of the moodmusic nightstarter compilation series with the best selection from the current and forthcoming releases selected and mixed by labelowner and a&r freestyle man aka sasse lindblad. starting things smooth with the recent star you star me single in an unreleased ian pooley vocal mix, sasse creates a magical mix crafted from the nu-disco sound of spirit catcher, common factor, nick chaocna and dan berkson going through a journey into the rocking minimal electronic side of the moodmusic catalogue with phonique (tim paris remix),  dave dk , geddes vs. audiofly (charted by ewan pearson allready) and sasse himself. ending the perfect mix is greg oreck´s future classic "line" in it´s glorious 10 minutes original mix.

(SONAR KOLLEKTIV 085ep) Ame, Dixon & Henrik Schwarz - Where We At
Germany's worldwide acclaimed house main players stuck their heads together for a monstrous, floor-sweeping cut blurring the boundaries between epic detroit techno and classic deephouse with a little vocal help from derrick l. carter. tune

(RAILYARD 003) Cari Lekebusch & Alexi Delano - Shadow Boxers Part 2
Welcome to the return of the team of alexi delano and cari lekebusch. focus on the main cut 'jolt'. starting off with patterns of rhythms making way for the hypnotic tones that bounce to the beats. the techno kicks off compiling sounds from vocoded voices and pouncing basslines. reverbing portamento keys swirl in the mix.punchy is the best way to start to describe 'reality tunnels'. leader of this journey will be cari's chord movements mixed with alexi's vocal twists and effects mastery.

(FUTURE DUB 05-lp) Lump - Dub
Somewhere between north finland and its border with lapland, home to vast space, iridescent landscapes, and ice comes arttu snellman aka lump. as a teenager in the late eighties arttu was struck, like any budding techie confined by many months of cold and darkness, by the new electronic sounds coming out of the us and uk (perhaps also the motivators for finish brethren vladislav delay, the pioneering sähkö label, and a strong death metal scene). profound love for acid house and emerging bleep techno forced the acquisition of turntables, relocation to helsinki, and a dj career interrupted by mandatory finnish military service. while in school during the mid nineties arttu started to amass obscure synthesizers and eventually built up a small studio. ambient soundscapes and lo-fi grooves started to emerge. at home he listened to almost everything, for other people he recalls playing "bouncy techno" while djing. in 2002 the first lump ep emerged on berlin's (then cologne's) sub s
tatic labe

(EINMALEINS 010) Sweet N Candy - Nutty As A Fruitcake
Einmaleins presents sweetn candy - all of you already know him from his releases on raum..musik,lebensfreude,dumb unit and opossum...yes and its spells quality. now he bring us a three track minimal tech house bomb.a versatile quality package for heavy rotation and all kinds of floors.

(COMA 005) Scandal Inc. - That's A Good Look ( Thugfucker Rmxs )
Last summer's surprise hit from scandal inc. "that's a good look" get's a hot new rework from thugfucker. originally appearing on coco machete this remix sees the light via coma, the darker more ill-mannered side of coco machete. these mixes take the original b-girl vocals and drop them in over a deep, dark late night groove ready for the big rooms. a thick chicago vamp, 80's drum fills and super sonic synth lines take both mixes straight back to the warehouse. thugfucker, none other than greg oreck and holmar fillipson are two transplants we were lucky to track down to get on this rub. holmar also being one third of new school super-group mr negative knows how to get things dirty for when you're "jackin' on the corner!"

(CONTEXTERRIOR 14) Inxec - 4
Time for a new bomb on contexterrior, after a little break and a special compilation series (very well recieved - thank you) we bring you some fresh new talent from noddingham, england ! he is a 23 year old prodigy promptly named "inxec" this record is big, big, big  - without a doubt one of the biggest club records on contexterrior to date. the sound is extremely advanced, crowd pleasing and has enough craziness to blow some minds - bass is throbbing on all songs, clickidy - clacky percussions move the groove, as you sit and wonder - " where did he come from ?" this release is truly alien, some might call it cold - but nonetheless extremely powerful. power. power. the first cut " bittersweet " sports an amazing mood , huge bassline and breakdowns guaranteed to throw the club into a frenzy. this song is recieving huge support and being regularly played by dj´s like  jay haze and ricardo villalobos a2.  "chalk and cheese" - dark atomosphere , clattering drums , and from the
heavy bas

(FENOU 03) Hidenobu Ito Feat. Urara - Lover
Fenou's third strike comes around with a project called polaris pulsation....polaris pulsation are maksim's vasilevikis (aka max brannslokker) and aleksander's chernishovs (aka pooka), this russian music project was created in 2000 and on this 10" they shows us their definition of modern electronic music, and boys and girls outside, this track called "cable" is really a great pleassure for the ears....great mixture between older warp and toytronic stuff and modern electronica music including lovely melodies, crunchy soundscapes and dazzling fragments... in the vein of supergroups like black dog, cunnigham and plaid, that should act as referee.
on the flip you will find another bomb produced by tokyo based hidenobu, who also released on japanese labels like flyrec and ns-com, featuring urara.hidenobu himself describes his music as experimental soul music and this characterisation hits the nail on the head....soulful soundscapes and deep strings, a clear bassline and urara's lovely voi

(EXUN 2042) Dj Linus - Borderline Ep
Touring the world  it took linus quite a while to finally finish some of his tracks. and running a label as well as shop makes the time schedule even tighter for him. linus is always very keen to find the right sound and the right quality for a new single, without trying to be obvious or very trendy but also achieving something special - not just a track. "compulsive behaviour" reflects linus addiction to whisky and those bad habits, which derive out of that. it´s a peak time b-line stomper with very true lyrics by mr. l himself added by nicely made soundscapes and emphasising synths. "hypnotizm" is exactly what the  title implies: 6 minutes of a minimal synth groove, interrupted by awesome little breaks, where the hypnotism gets a good dose of dopeness - again with lyrics by the man him self! the "borderline ep" reflects a weekend of a dj and those mondays/tuesdays afterwards with that question: "where, how much and why?"

(ELOGE HOUSE MUSIC 017) The Wiggs - Mars / Pirates
Martin venetjoki and john andersson, who form swedish supergroup the wiggs together, are usually not known as musical creepers: they like it loud, phat, dazzling and bold, cramming their tracks with myriads of small sample snippets and hysteria raising sounds - very much like a nordic basement jaxx. but here it seems like they administered their sound a tiny diet - not loosing any energy but focusing more on a careful build up, teasing you a bit longer before kicking you into full frenzy. also moving on from the disco influences of their last offerings to a more electronic sound with "mars" sporting a hard as nails beat, electronic boogie b-boy style break cut-ups and crazy spiraling sound swirls while the slightly more restrained "pirates" is a gripping jacker with rocking cowbells and an acid twist towards the end. still phat after all these years!

(COMBINATION RECORDS 040) The Vulva String Quartett - Out Of Sight/ Farben Rmx
The vulva string quartett is the wonderful house-project of hanno leichtmann, who is better known as static. inside the elektronika  universe. already last year, vso has ecstasized experts with its debut 4-tracker (core 027). leichtmann`s trademark are those thick glittering basslines, around which he builds quite playful house-tracks that nevertheless are containing a straight structure. tracks that seem to have an affinity with the enraptured hedonism of an early luomo. just now, hanno is playing the drums in jan jelinek`s live band. from there, a simply stunning farben-remix was only one step away. "farben says: it`s out of sight", and with this message, jelinek  gives the original track and this maxi its name. if he therewith refers to the movie-like visual power of vsq-tracks, has not been part of  the record. but he is right - no matter how hard you try: "it`s out of sight".

(THIRD EAR 3eep053) VA - Detroit Beatdown Ep Sampler
Follow up to the massive theo parrish [carl craig remix] of "falling up". this is the latest 12 from the excellent techno  compilation from third ear. includes a mix from amp dog knight (aka amp fiddler & moodyman) and a stunning malik pittman mix of this classic. the finest in detroit techno!

(ADAPTER RECORDS 04) Stefan Braatz Vs. Lady B - It Isn't Easy To Be Jack
Swinging tech-house with rumbling bassline, and funny screetchy oldschool noise. more minimal lady b mix on the flip

(BEAR ENTERTAINMENT 011) Goat Dance - Sizzle
Dean meredith needs no introduction he is of course one of the founding members of the ever so consistent chicken lips and has been plying his trade since the word go was invented.  so goat dance is his new project and what a way to kick start this special series. "sizzle" is a versatile track, you can play it at panorama bar (berlin) at 8.00am or it can be played as a peak time record at your local disco. the phased out bassline reminds me of giorgio moroder's "theme from battlestar galactica" but then transcends into a wigged out middle eight that had me thinking "the clash".  "high voltage" again builds on the same principals but takes a more electronic root with stealth percussion and a captivating rhythmic shuffle that only the goat could provide.  last but not least "zap pow" if someone told me that "ryuichi sakamato" had a hand in this i wouldn't have been surprised. again the percussion ticks along layer upon layer of cosmic keyboards that have you thinking is this an

(FOUR MUSIC for82876786951) Trost - Guy Le Superhero
There is only one annika line trost.her music is desperate and manic. as unattainable as david lynch, with the despair of francois hardy and the elegance of brian ferry she faces us with her music and is talking fortuitously about the big cold and big love.we realise they touch each other in extreme.despite its modernity and the beat of the big cities there are moments of security in these songs you can trust.as long as you don't believe they would rescue us from the monsters of the darkness.but who wants that anyway when you can follow her voice and these beats to where those monsters are waiting for you.she doesn't need tp be pierced.her heart is already perforated with thousands of needles. 8 years ago she formed the legendary band "cobra killer" with gina v. d'orio.in 2003 she released her first solo longplayer "trost" in australia / new zealand on valve records and in 2004 in germany on fm4.5.1. she produced "trust me" in australia with steve schram, tom carlyion and con
rad standi

(INEEDSUPERFREAK.FR freak003) Fuckaponydelic - Pee On You/ Switch The Light
Its hard to say where this one came from , but one thing is for sure --- it all started in the mind of one amazing , daring ,  inspiring man ! george clinton - he is the mastermind behind all that is funky , he is the one man - who understands the meaning of the word funk .  his inspiration has touched soo many different genres , and this record is a clear case of just how far his influence reaches. this record is sure to be big -detroit influenced techno with a late night , but club stomping appeal ! sure to blow any dancefloor , these intense vocals give you shivers up your spine - we are not of your world . this record is recieving huge support by the likes of djs such as ricardo villalobos , craig richards , dj hell , zip amongst many others.  get it before it is gone ! check this for more info: http://www.robidog.com/fuckaponydelic/

(MARKETING 003) Tekel & Tim Paris - Marketel & Marketim
Parisian studio neighbors tim paris and fresh duo tekel put their heads together and incubate two stringently rocking tech-house cuts that easily avoid to trod down the worn-out path but rather blaze their own trail. "marketel" starts out with a bass like a impenetrable wall and fidgety beats that are only painstakingly curbed from breaking loose and additionally get trampled on by clicking percussive sounds like a step-dancer tripin over pots and pans. when a piercing hi-hat and a  mad drilling, acidic bassline join in, the leash is finally loosened and the track descends onto the floor in full power additionaly driven by drum rolls and jittering chords. flip over for the slightly more introspective "marketim" that harks back to the innovative times of 70s synth pioneers and krautrock heads with it's amalgamation of hypnotic rhythms,at times bulky at times etheric analogue synth sounds and dashes of jazz and rock. yet as daring and fresh as this all is it never fails to send
you sweat

(MOUNTAIN PEOPLE 001) Mountain People - Mountain People
"crossing deep valleys, reaching for the highest peaks, breathing cold air, lighting fires, hunting dear, listening to the wind in the trees and absolutely loving music" - two famous yet anonymous producers from the land of heidi and purple cows present themselves as true nature-boys with this surprising manifesto yet soothingly this burning double header reassures that they are absolutely not yet alienated from smokey clubs plus punters on an unnatural high and still know how to light up the floor. the a-side is a new take on an immortal release by one of the big ol two ny house labels that were pushing each other into uncharted territory in the late 80s to the mid 90s. originally produced by the guy who almost single-handely is responsible for the unevitable pencil beard look of a certain elite-dj crowd that is nowadays more concerned with toning their muscles, the right tan and making it big in ibiza than digggin up fresh house dirt from the ny underground.

So this is some next shit! herve, dubsided's latest signing, is a hot new producer from west london. this debut release  is just a taste of his funked-up jackin' style - a perfect fit for the dubsided sound. a1 what you need the most: flitting from drum and bass-style drops, catchy vocal chops and the all-important pounding groove, all glued-together with a oizo-like attitude. b1 i'm mo try: the first collaboration between herve and dave taylor  under his switch guise. it's all about the bassline, taking herve's quirky mood and switch's trademark rumble, resulting in a solid club track. b2 lala land: vintage daft punk-sounding, funky as fuck with some deft eq'ing. sounds absolutely stunning  on vinyl and is perfect for people that like to drop the tempo in their sets but maintain the energy.

(ARCHIPEL 002) Jesse Somfay - A Closing Out Of The Sky
Jesse somfay with the second release from the archipel imprint. "lying in a bed of mist" sees jesse serving up some very trippy techno grooves, with hypnotic drums combining with heady synths and tight beats for a very late night affair. on the flipside, "a closing out of the sky" is a more percussive outing, with dubby effects run a cross layered drums, sparse effects, and subtle feedback-like backdrops

Noah pred and soultek combining talents on this new ep from the metapath label. noah is up first with "mobile homeland", a deep, driving techno cut that centers on a great bassline, surrounded by tight hi-hats and  moody synths. soultek rework the track into a throbbing minimal pleaser, with a heady bassline and dubby effects on the beats. on the reverse, the script is flipped with soultek serving up "back to jack", blending a rumbling techno bassline with crisp beats and a hypnotic synth line. noah then works the remix, upgrading the track into a stomping filtered workout for the main room crowds

(KLICKHAUS 001) Texture - Registery Check ( Tim Xavier Rmx )
Scott grey, aka texture, with this debut ep from klickhaus. "registry check" is a layered, dark minimal techno winner for the later folks, with analog whistles and surface noise effects dotted between a rubbery analog bassline and clicking drums. on the reverse, label boss, tim xavier, picks up the pace a tad, giving the cut a trackier exterior thanks to great techno loops. camea completes the trio of mixes with a clicking dim-styled rework, with spacey effects and dubby delays giving the track that little something extra.

(RAPSTER/ BBE rr056ep) VA - Exit Music - Songs With Radio Head Ep 3
Herbert takes '(nice dream)' and transforms it into a pleasantly surreal dream sequence with only hints of the original arrangement remaining. reminiscent of one of his many aliases doctor rockit, herbert expresses his own creative stamp on the bare elements he takes from the original. with mara carlyle providing vocals, the end result is a curiously quaint waltz, echoing accordions and soft fluctuating pads.  many comparisons have been made between dj shadow and rjd2 but his cover of this song is a very different beast: he completely reworks 'airbag' into a squelchy electro instrumental, whose alien oscillating rhythms seep out of the speakers. for his version of 'no surprises',shawn lee captures the same sense of childlike innocence, with the world-weariness shown through the vaudeville-tinged delivery and the relentless drum refrain. having worked with everyone from unkle to jeff buckley, lee's range is considerable

(RESTRICTED ACCES 3010) Kem/ Femi Kuti - Set You Free/ Traitors Of Africa
Splendid, percussive quentin harris dub of femi kuti's "traitors of africa". on the other side there's a typical tight shelter house version of a recent scorcher by r&b prodigy kem.

(SOULFURIC RECORDS 0031) Bobby Dambrosio - Runaway Part 2
Another round of mixes for this recent offering from bobby d'ambrosio on soulfuric. first up is marquito's rework of this cover of the linda clifford classic, is a deep, late night affair, with superb piano, grooving late night beats, stellar strings, and a rich bassline backing lasala's vocal before some great disco touches come into play to top things off nicely for the floor crowds. on the flipside, cleptos' dub mix takes the disco flavors and serves them up in stabbing looped form, with the beats a little more up, and the bass more aggressive as the track is taken to the peaktime masses.

"perfect timing" completes this stellar trio with a more pumped up outing, with driving beats pitted with vocals and chords, while a wandering bassline helps the crowds move.

(SHACK MUSIC005t) Candy Apple Ft. Jon Banfield - No. 1 ( Jihad Muhammad Rmx )
There is no review for this item yet.

(UNDERDOG EDITS udet006) Jamie Principle/ Jorge Santana - Your Love/ Darling I Love You
This one is for the jam! a supreme re-edit of the perzona records classic, "your love" supreme! the flip is a re-edit of an impossibly hard to find classic by jorge santana "darling i love you". originally on tomato records, on a 12, this re-edit is endless joy for those who can't find the original press. tasty!

(TOM BONE VIBRATING MUSIC 012) Michael Ford - Gallow Gate
The new tombone brings you two fierce detroitish electro banger by michael ford.reminiscent of a dark futuristic soundtrack, in "gallowgate" gnarly and sizzling cascades of synth chase each other over a choppy, skanking break-beat stewing up a more and more pressure before bursting into a full frenzy with a punchy 4/4 beat. "bellgroove" on the flip keeps it nasty with it's anarchistic bombardment of dirty, raw  synth noises over a hard-hitting electro groove. suck on dis.

A collaborative effort from tortured soul's bassist yrkiv and the partnering christian urich on vocals of deep and hooktastic grooves ! cocomachete's deeper label drop it large with halo & martino delivering a super maw vintage-style remix that's getting hammered by alix alvarez. flip for the halo & martino instrumental version. dope

Theo parrish legendary harmony park re-released. "twin cities" sees theo combining some fairly jackin' beats and a throbbing dubby bassline with an amazing jazzy vibes line and some dubbed out synths on this superb late night cut, dropping elements in and out of the mix with consummate ease. on the reverse, "dance sing" is a percussion-driven cut with a booming bassline and gentle keys pitting wits with a drifting vocal stab ("dance sing") and great percussion elements on another late night gem.

(POUSSEZ po9) Logan - Flash/ Charles Webster Rmx

(KNEE DEEP RECORDINGS 011) Lovebirds - Ethek
Basti, one half of the real house hitmaking producing team knee deep is back with another bomb called "ethek" under his alias lovebirds, and... guys outside.... what should i say....in my opinion one of the best knee deep records so far.
hard pumping basskicks starting the round dance on the a side, mystic and warm chords make a good point....the clever arranged basslines and chicago like vocal samples rounding the best start of a house record this year and everybody who thought that will be all about is totaly wrong.....the well-temperated piano will put this track to the highest point - i would say the greatest mixture of an elapsed days' vybe and today's producing skills so far...dudes, if you won't be in the starting blocks at this point you must be a) deaf in two ears or b) incurious in any kinds of music, especially in electronic music or c) both.
on the flip you will find two more mixes called "jägermeister mix" and "jägermeister dub"....jägermeister?the german favoured schnap

(STEAL VIBE MUSIC 005) Zap Mama - Miss Q-n/ Steal Vibe Rmx
Zap mama return with this new 12 for the steal vybe imprint. "miss q-n" is a grooving helping of later night house, with a superb vocal from zm backed, by shuffling peaktime house beats, a rich bassline, a stellar flute line, and groovy keys, and with steal vybe handling production, you know there's some deeper touches too. the dub mix replaces the vocal with some killer rock guitar licks whilst keeping the mood of the original. on the reverse, rhythm slaves serve up amore driving, bumping peaktime take, with a beefed up bassline, reworked beats, and soaring synth lines now backing zap mama's vocal. kid massive completes the quartet with a keys-driven workout, with stabbing piano and synths giving the track a slightly deeper approach, while a great analog bassline works the background

(SEASONS 055) Untitled Orchestra - Lullaby
A typically slamming deep house outing from the untitled orcorchestra (jt donaldson and cpen) on the always reliable seasons imprint. three gorgeous tracks on this one, with the a-side "lullaby" working a moody musical swirl of percussion, bass and key washes. deep and dreamy late night stuff. on the flip you've got a bumping dub of "lullaby" - very much a vintage fresh & low/guidance groove here. close it out with the stripped-down sunday afternoon thump of "praise" and you've got another rock solid release from one of the west coast's top labels

(SPACE KAT skat025uk) Franck Roger - Misticism Of Sound Ep
Here we have two instrumental house cuts from french producer franck roger with his distinct trademark sound. jamal is a peak time sound with deep rolling bass line and tuff percussion whilst the flip side features the title track 'mysticism of sound' taking things a little deeper.

(NITE GROOVES 249) Sunshine Jones ( Formerly Of Dubtribe ) - I Believe
Dubtribe sound system's sunshine jones with his first solo release on nite grooves. "i believe" is very much in the vein of classic dss releases, with great percussion, shuffling beats, and a rich bassline underpinning a deep spoken vocal from sunshine on a very tracky late night house groover. on the reverse, the "stripped dub" combines the vocal track and beats from the original as more of a dj tool/mixing cut, and the "i surrender" completes things with a lush deep house excursion that blends inviting chords, a breathy, subtly dubbed spoken vocal hook, and a warm bassline perfectly.

(FETISH 013) Joey Youngman - Supercuts Ep
Another rocking four-track ep from the man joey youngman. this one took a beating down at the wmc from all the usual suspects, with joeys rock-solid style on full display. a-side features two mixes of "doin my thing", a funky vocoded jam with a hot percussive groove on the original and a smooth deep house remix from pirates life. flip for a more tracky, techy workout with "rattlesnake" and a straight up shuffling jackathon with "desperation." like all youngman releases, this one will work that dancefloor properly.

(LARGE 104) Roy Davis Jr & Juan Hoerni - I Like It Like This
Solid pairing on this twotracker as the veteran roy davis jr teams up with la's underground sensation juan hoerni to drop a monster of a jazz-house bomb. two cuts on this, with thea-side main mix working some hot spoken word grooves over a thumping latin groove with a jumbo-sized bassline and hot trumpet solos. a peak hour extended deep house bomb here, with the b-side dub upping the percussion and cutting up the melodies for a nice hypnotic flow. top gear for the city deep, seasons and sole channel heads out there

(FALL OUT 1569-021) 4 Minutes - Avant/ Dfa
Another bumping ny garage take on an actual r&b gem with fantastic harmony vocals backed by a cool floating rhodes chords and a classic beat by notorious remixer team dfa.

(OOMPH 008) Busy/ Spoon - Nah Nah
Bangin peak time house phunk in a tried and tested jackin sneak style.

(AGAVE 0615) Demarkus Lewis - Sao Salvador
The original demarkus lewis mix has south beach written all over it. brazilian vocals breath through this steamy track. smoot bass, sax accents and percussive wonder back up some of the sexiest vocals imagineable. olivier desmet remix is dominated by pad rides and stabs plus a full chorus now and again. demarkus himself turns in a latenight reworking

(FREERANGE 072) King Kooba - Static Society
King kooba made their first appearance on freerange with their very excellent san salvador track which cropped up as an exclusive on last year's blue comp. it ended up getting hammered by a lot of top dj's and became a bit of an underground smash at wmc. so we asked the kooba guys to get some more stuff on the go and this is the result. static society is a fierce mid-tempo samba infused house track: deep and pumping yet soulful and hypnotic all at the same time it should easily find it's way into a wide range of sets.  destination detroit is a more straight up deep house affair with a simple pumping groove and lush rhodes stabs. much more of an afterhours vibe this one. flip over for 2 remixes of san salvador which both reinterpret the original in totally different ways. first up is luke solomon's bad brains and black flags mix which cranks things up to full throttle for a more pumping, house mix. in contrast, paris based patchworks drops it down a notch.

(AROMA 046) Jason Hodges - Damn...these Beats Stink
'shake it'? you bet! the new aroma by leading canadian house producer jason hodges is bound to make you dance. a bit more techy than the usual aroma sound maybe, but we're 100% sure you're going to love it. boompty boomp baby!! the bassline in both 'sample this!' and 'my stylee' is ultra contagious. if this don't make your booty move, your booty must be dead!!

(AJ 007) Tiger Sprouts - Sorry Wrong Beat
Tiger sprouts are dimitri dewever and raoul belmans, aka cosy creatures, aka swirl people, aka belgium's number one house ambassadors!! after their wicked steak out ep on music for freaks, they deliver a truly great follow-up to earlier aj releases by sebastien leger, homewrecker and dj mes. sorry, wrong beat is a funky house track with a catchy guitar sample and a crazy break. that beat doesn't sound wrong at all we must say!! hillbilly disc jockey on the other hand is more jackin' style house, with a rrrrrolling bass. yummie!!

(F COMM 243) Alexkid - Caracol Ep
Since the big success of "come with me" and "don't hide it" (from his mint album), alexkid has been touring non-stop all over the planet and doing some amazing studio production on various side projects. the « caracol » ep marks his return to writing and announces a new album due for release this summer. "caracol" means snail in spanish. definitely floor-orientated "caracol" is funky while minimal, very hypnotic with a slight touch of techno and takes us to a strange rainforest. it's a cross bridge between berlin (where alexkid has a residency at week12end) and the new uk electronic scene. the b-side, « uno » takes us back to the city, driven by dirty basses while synths rise in a pure dancefloor frenzy. sophisticated and physical, the "caracol" ep is a no-compromise statement.

(K7! 198ep) Voom Voom - Ep 4: Roger
Superb mid set house track with a prowling bassline kicks us off with 'roger'. the flip includes a dubby house number crafted excellently by peter kruder

(LIFE ENHANCING AUDIO 541416501479) Gerd - Fire In My Soul
Finally, after almost 4 years another official new release by gerd! paulo and gert in full force! "fire in my soul" is the beautiful appetizer for the new gerd album called 'perspectives." it's a beautiful soulful house track that features the powerful 'n sassy vocals of marilyn david. on the flip there's an amazing broken boogie remix that the duo did under their delgui alias. this remix reached the cdr pockets of jazzanova, kyoto jazz massive, daz-i-kue and the like who gave this track continuous love and are still banging it in their sets! this twelve is huge! dom servini in straight no chaser: "the dutch uber producers return with one of the finest soulful house joints around!"

(HEAVENLY SWEETNESS 01) Thunderbird Service/ Anne Wirz - Spirit Jazz
'the creator has a master plan' is done here by a one time group of philadelphian jazz and soul musicians under the leadership of sax player and singer byard 'thunderbird' lancaster. byard has played or recorded with sun ra, larry young, john coltrane, cedric im brooks and pharoah sanders whom he played this composition with at the turn of the 60s. khan jamal is a legendary vibist who produced sought after jazz independant records in the 70s. keno speller is the co-founder of the mythical funk group lafayette afro-rock band and alfie pollit has worked a long time for philly international, being in the 80s pianist and composer for teddy pendergrass.the b side showcases the talent of a parisian group under the leadership of singer anne wirz on the classics 'mother of the future' and 'maiden voyage'. anne has already recorded with osunlade, byard lancaster and jef gilson.martiniquan pianist georges edouard nouel is a figure of afro spiritual jazz in france since the late 60s.

(SMALLTOWN SUPERSOUND 111) Bjoern Torske - Ny Lugg
Signalling the return of smalltown supersound's bjorn torske, this is his first proper release since 2002's 'trobbel' (a contender for worst cover art ever) and sees the scandinavian diving further into his cask of special-recipe avant-disco. disrupting the notion of easy listening from within, torske opens with 'ny lugg' - wherein beats are tickled, things lollop and the whole thing passes by like a warm rain shower. flip your plate and on the back you'll find some dubby-fingered electro - with 'dubet' featuring a load of his mates (toy, jazzkammer) in the bjorn torske big band. bjorn again!

(ONE LITTLE INDIAN 458tp12) Bjoerk - Where Is The Line Rmxs
In demand promo. there will only be 400 copies available so please pre-order your copies asap to reserve your stock.   the matmos mix is best described as bhangra dubstep and sounds like it could have been done by mia. the soft pink truth mix starts off in an electro/ techno style before surprisingly switching into drum and bass pattern which finishes off with some grimey bassline action! this 12" is a must for all serious bjork fans

(LABELS 358999) Telex - How Do You Dance/ Tomboy & M83 Rmxs
After 20 years of silence, telex return with "how do you dance" a new album sounding just as innovative with other covers and some fresh originals. soulful robotics are back. after successfull 1st 12" ("on the road again" was #8 in the german club charts), here's the brilliant follow up: a dancefloor killer !!!

(AUDIOMATIQUE 013) P. Van Dongen - Hate To Say O . K .
Piet van dongen from nijmegen, netherlands is another new and talented face on the audiomatique artist circuit and presents his interpretation of now-sounding techno on his debut release "hate to say o.k.". he always knew that music would play a very, or even the most important role in his life. he and no one else realised that it would be techno in the end, but fortunately here it comes. the title track on a1, "hate to say o.k" immediately starts with a twisted melody, morphing from the left to the right and backwards and forewards. paired with a strong acid line, dry claps and one of those much beloved open hihats and an increasing and decreasing strength of attack, this track could definitely be your very own peak time bomb. give it a try! the b-side starts a bit more easy, less punchy, but more groovy and atmospheric. "fingerless" got some fine asian bells starting to play, when slowly a dark bassline arises from the back.

(FOUR MUSIC 82876786951) Trost - Guy Le Superhero
There is only one annika line trost.her music is desperate and manic. as unattainable as david lynch, with the despair of francois hardy and the
elegance of brian ferry she faces us with her music and is talking fortuitously about the big cold and big love.we realise they touch each other in extreme.despite its modernity and the beat of the big cities there are moments of security in these songs you can trust.as long as you don't believe they would rescue us from the monsters of the darkness.but who wants that anyway when you can follow her voice and these beats to where those monsters are waiting for you.she doesn't need tp be pierced.her heart is already perforated with thousands of needles. 8 years ago she formed the legendary band "cobra killer" with gina v. d'orio.in 2003 she released her first solo longplayer "trost" in australia / new zealand on valve records and in 2004 in germany on fm4.5.1. she produced "trust me" in australia with steve schram, tom carlyion and conrad standi

(PERSISTENCEBIT vazbit-09lp) Andy Vaz - Repetetive Moments Last Forever
With his long-awaited full-length 2xlp album repetitive moments last forever, andy vaz, the man behind background records, a touch of class,
and the soundvariation series, now moves beyond the 12-inch format. as a follow-up to the live in detroit cd (itself a follow-up to his earlier
live in tokyo cd), repetitive moments last forever downplays minimal clickhouse (even though there are references to it) and the free jazz-influenced experiments of the soundvariation series for a unique and fresh house style that favours soulfulness and strong, almost old-school grooves over technical perfection.  vaz cultivates a swinging, perpetually shape-shifting future-techno that reveals traces of hip-hop, broken beat, house, acid, throughout the album's eight pieces. as his first love is and always has been the deeper, traditional sound of house music (the fundamental reference for genres like clicks & cuts, minimal house, microsound, and others).

(Mobilee 009) Gummihz - Select & Bounce
London based gummihz a.k.a alexander tsotsos of greek origin, started a long-term relationship with electronic music as a dj in 1994. for the last four years he has been producing tracks to incorporate his own ideas to offer a more unique sound to his dj-sets and also to perform live. alex has a passion for producing elastic/rubbery frequencies for bodies to respond to, hence the nickname of gummihz. main influences are the minimal house and techno scenes of the past, the present and the future. he is part of the fast growing minimal scene around argy, ed davenport and some more talented musicians from london. a project together with the italoboys will follow on treibstoff soon. this two tracker on mobilee is his first 12" vinyl release. the a-side track isolate is a percussive minimal groove monster, opening up the mouth with a radiation emergency rave signal from time to time. dangerous! a.a.k.n.y. on the other side has a similar concept with a lot of tension build ups and releases i

(PHILPOT 016) A Made Up Sound - Sunday / Late Drive
*philpot comes this time along with a new artist called "a made up sound".*actually he's a new artist in the house-scene while he's producing more breaks-style*by the project "dogdaze". (the release "dogdaze ft. the proov - raise your fist" is out now on hollands flyin' high- imprint).* "sunday" is working on an awesome beat with beautiful chords, crawling up your spine and settle in your mind 'till you are whistling it! .hit!* on the flip "late drive" is a more subtle disco-hook with charming beats and some unexpected moves..deep!

(MARKETING 003) Tekel & Tim Paris - Marketel & Marketim
Parisian studio neighbors tim paris and fresh duo tekel put their heads together and incubate two stringently rocking tech-house cuts that
easily avoid to trod down the worn-out path but rather blaze their own trail. "marketel" starts out with a bass like a impenetrable wall and fidgety beats that are only painstakingly curbed from breaking loose and additionally get trampled on by clicking percussive sounds like a step-dancer tripin over pots and pans. when a piercing hi-hat and a  mad drilling, acidic bassline join in, the leash is finally loosened and the track descends onto the floor in full power additionaly driven by drum rolls and jittering chords. flip over for the slightly more introspective "marketim" that harks back to the innovative times of 70s synth pioneers and krautrock heads with it's amalgamation of hypnotic rhythms,at times bulky at times etheric analogue synth sounds and dashes of jazz and rock. yet as daring and fresh as this all is it never fails to send you sweat

(ELECTRIC AVENUE 016) Monika Kruse Vs. Dave Shokh - Gestern!
"gestern!" (is german and means "yesterday!"): inspired by the after hour culture - maybe they know each other from the berlin after hour culture (who knows there anything?) - kiddaz.fm's 22 year old infant prodigious dave shokh (playmate, hidden agenda, co-producer of the recent karotte album "got to bed") and the electric avenue labelboss monika kruse (first time on electric avenue herself!) came together to produce two relaxed but completely affine to the dancefloor and in its way absolutely necessitative compositions!  who thinks this can only deal with techno is so mistaken... this here is lovely swinging minimal stuff - maybe, taking you away  to spheres of... for a sunday, for free, for outdoors - at the water front! and then the question: "when was yesterday?" (a:  "wann war gestern?"), so common in this typical still-awake conversations where nobody knows anymore which "yesterday" is meant. the "yesterday" where you slept the last time or the "yesterday" 24 hours before?

(MOOD MUSIC lim014) Kid D : Ub - Microgeniuz
Uk based logicalnoise records released the original mix a few years ago on the debut release from kid d:ub. fastforward to present and moodmusic has snapped the highly limited record for a full release on moodmusic limited. original is a mad synthdriven acid monster with mad breakdowns and snappy arrangment. on the remix tip , sasse transforms this to an minimal epic housetrancer which rocks every floor. allready approved by the berlin massive dirt crew, ewan pearson, dj naughty

(MOUNTAIN PEOPLE 001) Mountain People - Mountain People
"crossing deep valleys, reaching for the highest peaks, breathing cold air, lighting fires, hunting dear, listening to the wind in the trees and
absolutely loving music" - two famous yet anonymous producers from the land of heidi and purple cows present themselves as true nature-boys with this surprising manifesto yet soothingly this burning double header reassures that they are absolutely not yet alienated from smokey clubs plus punters on an unnatural high and still know how to light up the floor. the a-side is a new take on an immortal release by one of the big ol two ny house labels that were pushing each other into uncharted territory in the late 80s to the mid 90s. originally produced by the guy who almost single-handely is responsible for the unevitable pencil beard look of a certain elite-dj crowd that is nowadays more concerned with toning their muscles, the right tan and making it big in ibiza than digggin up fresh house dirt from the ny underground

(FRESH MEAT 02) House Of Black Dress - Say It
A new joint label between two old friends in the business : mazi & duriez. fresh meat is run from chicago, produced in france, pressed in the netherlands and spread from germany by wordandsound. the track is called "say it" and was originally written by ralphi rosario and appeared on chicago's sunset records in 1985. the cover versions appearing here contain no samples or loops from the original. it has all been remade & update by house of black dress in chicago. the track has proven to create huge stirs on the dancefloors after the few tests we've made on cdr around the world. when david duriez played it at club crystal in istanbum it was the highlight of the party, people went crazy ! rave on !  on the flip, "hobd over me" with his mysterious title is the perfect follow up to "no one to care for", with his dark yet sexy vocals and deep atmosphere over a simple yet effective melodic hook. this is fresh meat !

(FENOU 03) Hidenobu Ito Feat. Urara - Lover
Fenou's third strike comes around with a project called polaris pulsation....polaris pulsation are maksim's vasilevikis (aka max brannslokker) and
aleksander's chernishovs (aka pooka), this russian music project was created in 2000 and on this 10" they shows us their definition of modern electronic music, and boys and girls outside, this track called "cable" is really a great pleassure for the ears....great mixture between older warp and toytronic stuff and modern electronica music including lovely melodies, crunchy soundscapes and dazzling fragments... in the vein of supergroups like black dog, cunnigham and plaid, that should act as referee.on the flip you will find another bomb produced by tokyo based hidenobu, who also released on japanese labels like flyrec and ns-com, featuring urara.hidenobu himself describes his music as experimental soul music and this characterisation hits the nail on the head....soulful soundscapes and deep strings, a clear bassline

(STIL VOR TALENT 005) VA - Talente Mit Stil Compilation
Stil vor talent proudly presents an extraordinary artist - maetrik.most of you already know this guy and his releases on treibstoff, morris audio and substatic. the boy from texas builds two technobombs, that are gonna explode. the track aggravate me on site a is a monster, that comes with a splattervocal.the track absence of mind on side b makes you anxious and shows that maetrik is the producer of tomorrow. this record will show you what fear really feels like.

(PLAYERS PARADISE 006) Marcello Giordani - Synthetic Music 1 - Shogun Incl . Serge Santiago Rmx
Marcello giordani is our second new and exciting signing from "bella italia". his productions and dj sets have been inspired by the n.y.c. club legends "paradise garage" and "music box" and the late 70's and early '80s club sounds they featured when disco and electro began to evolve into early house music and the whole thing got big. shogun is a massive dry bassdriven bleepy discoid electro-house tune. ruff and dirty! with a solid groove that moves any floor out there. very original and inspiring, which also got us on to his sound and we decided to release his fresh tunes on players paradise. it's different as the rest out there but will perfectly fit into your nu disco set alongside dfa or lindström. man of the moment serge santiágo (radioslave) has grown to a major remix wizard, with his latest goldfrapp or tiga interpretations he has become a household name when it comes to deep and dirty reworks with that special disco-ish touch.

(WIR 002) G-man - The Way You Move
Famous old warhorses are back again: instead of letting crackling tediousness govern the world of sound, g-man shows how music sounds like in your dreams: freshly polished grooves, romanticised soundscapes .so, no better reason for the next open-air season. while the fog is sinking down over the blue-green lake, the searchers start dancing, impatiently waiting for one of these nights that you will never forget. close-contact-dance techno loves you, and we do love you, too. this music is for breathing, cuddling and having a party, like the earlier generation taught us. techno has got a soul again and will make us happy. this is music worth dreaming about.

(KARMAROUGE 17) Cio D´or - Lichtblick Ep
Female sexiness finds it's way onto karmarouges release no.17 'lichtblick ep'. cio d'or is one of the flourishing female producer of german made techno and has hit the road in order to become the status quo of all female djs. in the past cio d'or has indicated her own remarkable direction as a support dj for richard bartz imprint kurbel and her nachtwind events at munichs harry klein club are actually bringing the voodoo back to the dance floor. cio d'or is extravagant. her sensational aura of glamor and trash is enchanting and she seduces us with her emotional 'lichtblick ep' to dream, dance and love. the a-side track 'lichtblick' follows the concept of minimalism and evolves towards a warm and impulsive deep techno track. a lovely piece of music that touches the heart, shakes the rump and carries loving gleams of hope into people's heart and onto the club's dance floors. 'lichtblick' is straight and playful but nevertheless oblique produced and amazes with moments of deep-seated prof

(MINERAL MUSICA 03) Decibel - Versus Ep ( P. Bucci / J. Haze Rmx )
Decibel, founder of the label mineral, breaks out with his first ep, versus, in which he goes head to head with two of his closest mates jerga
(a.turquesa), co-founder and 1/2 of mineral, and daniel chavez (b. fantasy vs. reality), of automat records.   on side a, turquesa takes you on a journey through percussive soundscapes that are broken and funky, but stay driven as if they were straight up 4 on the floor.  the remix of turquesa is brought to you by none other than pier bucci, who demonstrates how a true remix should be done by using the framework of the original and transforming it into a funky masterpiece. producers, grab your pencils and paper and take notes on this one as bucci takes you to school!!   on side b, fantasy vs. reality lays down a jacky kick with snares and hi-hats that slap you around like a bully on the playground at recess!! also laced with mystery samples that poke fun at the state of politics in the world today. this time, the remixing duties are handled by

(PLAYMATE comp001) VA - Playmate Compilation 1
Dave shokh - brings you a wave of deep emotion and floating sythns with la "granita".  next up: nd - beauty free who strongly delievers with
"beauty free". an amazing minimal masterpiece of fine techno music with slight melodies and delicious programming. huge club hit potentia
leaving a superfine impressionl! ron flattere is known for melodic and harmonic club music with a strong female appeal. he likes to make the
girls sweat and once they do them boys will follow. here he delievers the strong "eye witnees" so bounce your booty like a basketball baby.
niekisch & hermann - taiga disco n & k are also known as trick and kubic. on playmate they release as niekisch & hermann and their style is a
little bit more underground and characteriz by deep and groovy house sound with subtle programming, leaving out the big synths and vocals.
holger nielson - plaza is minimal tech house at its best. somewhere between cirez d and trentemoeller comes mr holger nielson aka holgi star.

(TRENTON 012) VA ( Nooncat, T. Bodine, P. Stumpf... - Beat Generation Ep
After collecting great tracks from all over the world and from people that are close to us as artists and friends we've decided to do a
"various" which will eventually be the first one of several for the upcoming year!!! a1: todd bodine presents something a bit different
from his usual minimal funky music. a track that has definitely a pop appeal, a great melody and a very typical sound. thanks todd ?
a2: part of the family, phil stumpf with one of his "rocket"!!! that track is so funky and yet very minimal. definitely a great shuffled
dj tool for people who like to shake it ? b1: alexei meshkov aka nooncat with one of his typical dry and therefore crystal production;
although alexei choose to go for a more minimal sound than usual this tune is perfect for big dance-floors!!! b2: once again marco tonni
aka touane is on the top of things. an unbelievable tune made with incredible classy sounds. so original, so smart and still so funky!!!

(GALAKTIKA RECORDS 003) Oriol Benedet - Genetica
Son of catalonian jewellers and raised in gracia's neighbourhood, in barcelona, orio benedet tarted to play records at the age of fourteen and shortly later started on production; first with the basic but effective tb-303's emulator (rebirth) until complete audio solutions and sequencers as nuendo. oriol is a sound technician, specialized in production and post- production of audio and music for radio, movies and television. his influences go from surgeon or regis' hard techno to minimal pop from the scene of cologne. he is not stuck in one style since he likes to produce any kind of music; but his main style without a doubt is minimal-softechno." oriol benedet recognizes his source of inspiration in the dynamic and stimulant atmosphere of barcelona, actually its inherent in his tracks by sampling the city's ambience sounds. on his first single he shows us two propositions. the first one, genètica, more melodic  and signed with his influences in the last four years. the second, biodeg

(VOLTMUSIK 007) Konrad Black & D.brown - Brown & Black Ep
After having made his first steps with release on 240 volt and causing a stir with last years offerings on wagon repair, vancouver-based producer konrad black returns to the swayzak camp and joins forces with one half of the influential production team david "broon" brown. the resulting "bild de burg" cut is not only designed for heavy skanking but presents you the most precious gift of all: time. because how the earthy riddim is carefully carved out of the grinding, distorted noise that is not unnerving but rather soothing like waves breaking and how every additional sound is placed cautiously not only puts extra weight on details like the spooky voice loops but reinfects the mind with total serenity blurring the feel of time and space. "still" on the flip sees david brown alone at the controls and in a more aggressive "detroit meets kingstown" mood throwing down a hard hand clapping groove underpinned with an earth-shattering bassdrum

(WORLDLESS RECORDS 08) Marko Laine - Time To Say Goodbye
Marko laine is back on worldless records after a long break - starting his career in the late 80s he has been involved in the finnish electronic
music scene for many years and was one of the moodmusic founders. at the beginning of the 90s richie hawtin picked one of his tracks for a mixmag compilation and his career started. his next stages were djax-up-beats and bass network..the legendary sähkö label picked his tracks, he remixed dj skulls graveyard orchestra and detroits gfx-man alan oldham became the illustrator of his records and so on.. marko's "time to say goodbye" is a catchy housetune with vocals performed by himself - this record will find its way into the cases, sure thing. the b-side is a booty techhouse track with a pressing flow in an amazing soundquality.

(THEOMATIC RECORDS 004) An-2 - Diva
The new diptych "diva" from andrei zakharov aka an-2 on his own theomatic. two tracks are two projections of one feeling. careless and fleeting spring passion versus warm and deep sence shining inside in golden september.

(AESOTERIC 022) John Larner And Slater Hogan - Deal With The Duvel
Aesoteric is pleased to start 2006 with this hot three tracker from the dynamic duo of john larner and slater hogan. "whats wrong with me?" is
the banger of the record: straight up madness for those not faint of heart or head. thick beats, nutty syncopations and a serious bassline all
come together for that perfect 3 am mind bender. we suggest upon listening to this song that you remove any children that may be in the room as it may give them nightmares. "chitowner" is reminiscent of old prescription records. combining classic keys, horns, chunky beats and acid line,
it's sure to be a favorite of any deep house head who likes theirs with a bit soul. "i don't know" is just in time for the sound that owns the
world at the moment . john and slater have fused funk with a classsic electro feel to make a song that is equal parts bump and edge. add a sample saying "brothers and sisters, i don't know what this world is coming to" and you've got pure dirty magic!!!

Remix by kid alex aka boys noize 909 disco / new wave oldschool rave sounds

(TOM BONE VIBRATING MUSIC 011) Justin Harris - Blowfly Killers/ Little Beasties Rmx.
Blowfly killers  is one of those freaks tracks that suck you in and ruin your head. very haunting and errie and has still this small and
smart element of funk running underneath taht we know and love them fore. little beasties´s  (odori, mff) remix it is a minimal jack affair supreme. bumpty, dry and full of vibrating groove to the edge!

(WAS NOT WAS 010) Thugfucker - The Dance - Mr Negative Rmxs.
Nyc´s next up to date production setup thugfucker aka. greg oreck & holmar fillipson (mff,.) join in with their good friends mr. negative aka
holmar fillipson & oliver spencer (fine,.) currently nyc´s most up to date production sqwad. "the dance" , thugfuckers most positive
(or most peculiar , i still don't know ;)) record to date was actually recognized by one half of our a&r team at a monday´s afterhour party to
popkomm 2004 at tom clark´s house where greg oreck gave it play for three to four hours until the attending crowd finally started to like it.
afterwards he had a little less luck as tiefschwarz, dj t., mandy, switch, jesse rose, hp lindstrom all turned down their remix request.
maybe this carton of japanese cigarettes we offered was just a little too less payrole in the end, at least being pregnant with a beautiful
electro dance record for such a long time helped us convince mr negative to finally agree the release of their 2004 remix which should have
been side b in the firs

(FUTURE DUB 05) Lump - Dub
Somewhere between north finland and its border with lapland, home to vast space, iridescent landscapes, and ice comes arttu snellman aka lump. as a teenager in the late eighties arttu was struck, like any budding techie confined by many months of cold and darkness, by the new electronic sounds coming out of the us and uk (perhaps also the motivators for finish brethren vladislav delay, the pioneering sähkö label, and a strong death metal scene). profound love for acid house and emerging bleep techno forced the acquisition of turntables, relocation to helsinki, and a dj career interrupted by mandatory finnish military service. while in school during the mid nineties arttu started to amass obscure synthesizers and eventually built up a small studio. ambient soundscapes and lo-fi grooves started to emerge. at home he listened to almost everything, for other people he recalls playing "bouncy techno" while djing. in 2002 the first lump ep emerged on berlin's (then cologne's) sub static labe

(MO'S FERRY PRODUCTION 019) Dapayk & Padberg - Close Up Rmxs ( Someone Else, Lump...)
mfp019 really is a firework! music made with heart and soul. beautiful,  this deep brocksieper mix - it's flow is one of the finest.
a2 - a romantic lump, who will reel filled flews in, after having thrown his seductive bait on the "love fish sea bottom" of the club landscapes.
and yet, there is someone else!? someone else, who is mixing the vocals  in the finest manner on b1  - as always - an airy inciting and pushing
mixture for a t_time of doozy. use your arms, marcel knopf! if your legs might be a bit weak after the  first three mixes, you can swing your arms right now into the air and  sink into a rocking broken beat after a gap that hardly can be reached.

(MOOD MUSIC 39x) Sasse Feat . Kiki - Loosing Touch / Alexkid & Passarani Rmx
After the killer original mix of this future classic we bring you two of our favourite producers to the table to tackle the vocals from kiki.
alexkid starts with a early chicago frankie knuckles groove evolving the song into a peakhour frenzy of electronic house at it´s best.
mr pigna aka marco passarani twists a bar or two from french kiss and turns the track into a jacking killer-groove alÁ powerplant 1987 with the
vocals teared into parts and turned into a mutilated chant. for the not so vocal orientated around he kindly made a slamming dub as well. salutÉ

(CATWASH 005) Kaay Alexi - Pop N Puss
Starting to prowl the clubs at the tender age of 12, hanging around all the happenin spots in chicago  when disco morphed into what we
call house and techno and befriending with true innovators such as ron hardy and frankie knuckles, layed the foundation of k alexi's
status as one of the true pioneers of the chicago sound. he's not contend with resting on his laurels though as he proves with this mad
rockin 3 tracker that gives all the wannabes a lecture in pure energy. without any unnessecary foreplay "pop n puss" gets right into action
with a stomach turning bassline, hysteric siren sounds and ass-slapping claps. in good old 3rd bass tradition fakers get the "gas face" -
another jittering electro-boogie beatdown - before k alexi shows a little bit of tenderness yet keeps it freaky with the slightly deeper "cybersex"; a viril, climatic percussive pounder with a mysterious synth strings melody. k alexi knows your inner urges and basic needs!

(MARGUERITA 001) Cosmic Force - Live In Detroit
Cosmic force was invited to play at the electronic music festival, fuse-in, detroit. he played a hard and uncomprimising live set to a more than eager crowd. and now resenting for your listening and dancing pleasure, captured live and direct in detroit a great 5 track ep filled with ruff tough beats with low dirty pitch-shift vocals over grinding synths held together by those rather large 808 beats, these are tracks that just can't be ignored.

(KONDI 015) Gosub - We Are Still Searching
The isophlux man from miami shad t. scott presents a very beautiful and variated release, that continues from where he left; the superb frustrated funk and device releases. smooth sound, great rhythm programming and fantastic pads and melodies. more or less every track contain lyrics and ''message shadows'' is a short hiphop track made together with his friend on the mic; big l.! some for the dancefloor, some for the livingroom and some for the mind!

The might duo of shur-i-kan and milton jackson go head to head once again to produce yet more deep, pumping dancefloor grooves for your listening and playing pleasure. following on from last months i want it ep, special powers goes some way to cementing these boys reputation as heavyweights in their field. the original of special powers is a throbbing beast of a track that?s just crying out to be played on a big room soundsystem where itll wreak complete havoc! twisted, psychedelic s**t from outer space is one way to describe it! shur-i-kan calms things down a bit for his latin workout mix, but only a bit! tight brazilian beats keep things grooving while the layers of tripped out keys and fx swirl around on this alternate version. finally we see milton jackson revisit i want it so he can turn it upside down and inside out creating a darker, more tribal version for the headz. all in all another fine collection of underground goodness that we?re sure you?ll get plenty of use out of.

(20/20 VISION 129) Onionz - One Night Stand Ep
Dj onionz comes correct with his debut 2020 vision release 'one night stand'. needing no introduction to house heads, this prolific dj and producer began his career in the early 80s, playing parties in his native queens, nyc before taking his music across the globe. 'play dat song' is an electronic jackin' house monster with a bass hook that grooves throughout the track. it's latin tribal drums and electronic stabs cause mayhem on the floor and a cool vocal sample raises its head. 'pokin u' has the same quality production and bass driven groove with great breakdowns and more of a techy vibe that would rock sets from carter to pete tong, whilst keeping the trademark onionz latin influences.

(LIEBE*DETAIL liebe009) Denis Karimani / Lee Jones - Incubatio / Wax Off
Denis karimani - incubatio   although hamburg's denis karimani has already released an ep for dial under his real name, he might best be known under his alias "remute" (areal/trapez/weave). as a member of error error he also released a track on liebe*detail (liebe002), as well as three 12"es on italic. with "incubatio" karimani delivers a dark, swinging track. developing it from a rolling groove in a very intuitive and spontaneous way, it clearly shows the experience denis gained from uncountable live sets. without falling back on obvious hooks, he manages perfectly to keep up the tension all the way through.   lee jones - wax off lee jones might not exactly be a newcomer, but his debut for liebe*detail is a premiere anyway. now living in berlin, the british producer has been active in a completely different musical field so far. as hefner he has released music for the inertia label, catering for the downbeat and nujazz crowd. he remixed a lot of this genre's pioneers, 4hero amongst

cnst takes on a journey a dark journey with all the crackles of yester year vinyl... i don't know why but it just really reminds me of the forss stuff, from a year or so ago on sonar collective.  model, 'this station rule the naysharrrn!' - well if you like heavy dub pressure, i think you might just like this one...super cut up vox split in between clicks and bleeps...  next is 'gas' which for me goes a long way to making this more of an e.p. than a 12" single.  hard as nails kick, still on the clinical click style, but has that head nod that'll break your neck. if you like your
'trip hop' ...(remember that word eh?), you sure gonna dig this lil' baby... weighing in at an unsurpassable 55 bpm!!! -

Joy jones is well known on the la scene, a superstar is her own mind.  although many people find it more comforting to call joys music, neo-soul,
joy is adamant that her sound is afro-digital-soul which she considers to be the perfect synthesis of afro-caribbean rhythms, digital elements like broken beat and gritty gospel soul. besides the original there's a jumping bruk beat mix by bugz in the attic member  alex phountzi. this 12" has already been championed by benji b and giles.

(FREERANGE 071) Palm Skin Productions - Year Of The Muppet Ep
Last year  palm skin productions debuted on freerange with so bad whiche went on to cause quite a stir and certainly threw a few people who were expecting down-tempo psychadelic beats of the kind he made his name making for mo wax and pussy foot. those days are over and here he is rinsing out the fattest, funkiest, freakiest house sounds around!  his follow up is cryptically titled year of the muppet and contains 3 tracks of top quality fare. first up is leave me again, a stripped back, funk fuelled, acid tinged beast if ever there was one. a totally unique sound which is full of energy whilst remaining subtle and understated. class!  get live tonight follows with a huge slab of thundering cut up boogie business. once again, palm skin keeps things stripped back for maximum dancefloor appreciation, relying on the twisted manipulation of the loops to keep the funk factor at 11. flip over for the epic beauty love will go.  coming on somewhere between moodyman, henrik schwartz and 10cc i

Rescued from the disco vaults of vincent montana jr.comes this incredible ethnic-tribal masterpiece from 1979.fans of vince's lush disco sound will love the original - a mix of unique percussion and typically philly disco strings and arrangements. they just don't make dance music like this anymore. spicing things up is soulshine's louis benedetti who worksmore of a contemporary tribal groove, while including a persistent synth stab and hypnotic rhythms. a nice set of bonus beats rounds off this package - a true joy for fans of classic disco (dimitri from paris, maw) and african music (joe claussell, ibadan, etc.)

(SCAPE CD 038) MAPSTATION - DISTANCE TOLD ME THINGS TO BE SAiD
One may ponder why the first release from ~SCAPE to arrive at our humble shop would not be from their more electronic music minded output we all know and love. It´s very easy to comprehend, for only if you just LISTEN, then you will hear the digital embrace this member of TO ROCOCO ROT´s side-project MAPSTATION emanates with his debut for the ~SCAPE imprint "DISTANCE TOLD ME THINGS TO BE SAID" . The field recordings of "VALENCIA WAS ASLEEP" and "LISTENING TO STOCKHOLM" may very well give some truth to the allegations of a shadowy right wing conspiracy that shrouds these two cities however, percussionist Martin Mrandlmayr (RADIAN), trombonist Annie Whitehead and Bernd Jestram (TARWATER) displace such theories (temporarily at least) with a stunning mesh of low-key melodies and polyrhythm bliss.

(SHITKATAPULT 071) DAS BIERBEBEN - IM KREIS
There are fables of label heads T. RAUMSCHMIERE and APPARAT gleefully flinging faeces at unsuspecting victims in their spare time and that
DAS BIERBEBEN are made up of various famous pop icons . This round they move away from the electro-tinged output of their past to a sound more reminiscent of THE FALL-add on 2 exceptional remixes from CRISTIAN VOGEL one leaning to the dancefloors of tomorrow and the other that recalls GODSPEED! YOU BLACK EMPEROR. Bold!!

(SENDER 057 12) MISC. - LIKE THE MORNING IN YOUR EYES RMX
People always bring up the formidable theory that there´s a rivalry between Cologne and Berlin- apart from chatter that can be found between various minstrels , it´s certainly not proven to any viable extent especially when Berlin´s longstanding techno imprint SENDER boasts the likes of Cologne based MISC. HEMMANN & KADEN and PAN-POT de-code last year´s full-length "LIKE THE MORNING IN YOUR EYES" into minimalist overdrive. Tip of the week!
